Grilled Asparagus

Impress your guests with this gourmet dish that is simple to toss on the grill along with some marinated chicken breasts or burgers.
1 pound bundle of fresh asparagus
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Juice of ½ lemon
Wash and drain asparagus. Snap off woody ends but leave stalks whole. Place on a plate and drizzle olive oil over pile. Using your hands, toss to coat evenly in oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place directly on hot grill or in a vegetable grilling basket and cook for 1-2 minutes until slightly charred in spots. Turn and cook on all sides, only a minute or so per side. Test a piece to see if it is crisp-tender and hot through and then remove from grill with tongs. Sprinkle with lemon juice and serve hot or room temperature.
