Batch Cooking

Thanks to  my new neighbor, Sarah, I’ve started batch cooking.  Only someone who has prepared every dinner from scratch for three years can fully appreciate the joy of getting home at 5:15 and being able to heat something up in the microwave, but everyone can get a little thrill.

In addition to having delicious, allergy-friendly meals stocking my freezer, I’ve also gotten to spend some wonderful hours talking with Sarah as we chop vegetables.  I highly reccommend cooking with a friend, though I suggest finding a friend dealing with no or few allergies, otherwise you might end up eliminating everything off the menu!

Stay tuned for future forays, shopping lists, cooking timelines, and more recipes!

  2. I actually have to rsqueet the same as the first & fifth post. A great cheese or mac & cheese, and granola bars (Chewy ones) would be fantastic. I have attempted granola bars about 20 times (really) and all have been blah and unsuccessful. Been a few ok’ ones. And the cheese for mac & cheese is really hard to find something that actually still tastes good, tried about 8-10 of these. FYI after getting your cookout on baked treats I have come to one conclusion. That you are a dairy free goddess and I love you ! I have never had as as many things turn out SO good as I have with your book. My 3 year old daughter with dairy & nut allergy thanks you the most though. You’ve made a big difference in her life. What your doing to raise awareness and share your recipes counts and means alot. thank you.

    • Thanks so much! It always makes me feel good when readers tell me that my recipes have helped make their lives easier. That is my goal with this site!

Tasty mac n cheese has so far eluded me too. Sorry. But chewy granola bars are not so hard. Just make my granola bar recipe which uses Brown Rice Syrup instead of honey. If they aren’t chewy enough for you, use a little more syrup and a little less sugar until you reach the chewiness you like. Good luck!
